Questions and Answers
This part of the book has a selection of some questions asked by students of Jeevan Vidya and their answers given by Shree A Nagraj.
Question: - Do material objects have no value?
Answer: - Usefulness value of material objects is definite. The usefulness value of one kilogram of wheat today is the same as what it was one hundred years ago. We only brought its value down by interfering in it (for example by using chemical fertilisers). People became averse to labour from using chemical fertilisers, as they stopped making manure from dung and started killing farm animals for their meat. They say, we make money by killing animals and exporting their meat etc. How far is that right? How far is that practical? How far is that good for humans? Who is answerable? For prosperity, it is essential that material objects have value - as the fruit of human labour. Material objects are used in three ways - the body's nourishment, protection and social participation. All these objects are to be used by humans; without these they cannot be fully happy.
Question: - What is dharma of humans, and what is faith?
Answer: - The dharma of all humans is happiness. Many faiths are there only because this fact is not understood and this understanding is not prevalent. The extent to which I live in abundance and in orderliness today, I can live even better tomorrow, such living with increasing happiness is called dharma. It is not possible to be happy with problems. One can become happy only upon attaining resolution from understanding. We attain resolution on the basis of material things and then become happy; it doesn’t work like this. Understanding, hence resolution, is inherent in our buddhi through awakening. One becomes capable of producing and using material things righteously on the basis of understanding.

प्रश्न-उत्तर
पुस्तक के इस भाग में जीवन विद्या के जिज्ञासुओं के मन में उठने वाले प्रश्नों में से कुछ महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्नों का चयन कर श्रद्धेय बाबा जी से उन प्रश्नों के समाधान चाहे गए। बाबाजी के द्वारा प्रस्तुत समाधान यहां पर दिए गए हैं।
प्रश्न :- क्या भौतिक वस्तुओं की कीमत (मूल्य) नहीं है?
उत्तर :- भौतिक वस्तुओं का उपयोगिता मूल्य निश्चित है सौ साल पहले जो एक किलो गेहूँ का उपयोगिता मूल्य था वह आज भी यथावत् है। जब इसमें हमने हस्तक्षेप किया तो मूल्य को कम ही किया (जैसे रासायनिक खाद डाला)। रासायनिक खाद के उपयोग से आदमी आलसी भी हो गया और गोबर खाद बनाना बंद कर दिया और सभी जानवरों को मारकर खा गया। यह बताते हैं कि जानवरों को मारकर विदेश भेजकर हम पैसा कमाते हैं। यह कहाँ तक सच्चाई होगी, कहाँ तक व्यवहारिक होगा, कहाँ तक आदमी के शुभ के अर्थ में होगा, कौन उत्तर देगा? समृद्धि के लिए भौतिक वस्तुओं का मूल्य आवश्यक है यह मानव के श्रम नियोजन का फलन है। भौतिक वस्तुओं का उपयोग तीन जगह होता है शरीर पोषण, संरक्षण एवं समाज गति के लिए। सम्पूर्ण वस्तुओं का उपयोग करना है इसके बिना मानव को सम्पूर्ण सुख मिल भी नहीं सकता।
प्रश्न :- मानव धर्म क्या, मत क्या है?
उत्तर :- सर्व मानव सुख धर्मी है, यह स्पष्ट सर्व सुलभ ना होने से उसी के लिए अनेक ‘मत’ है। हम जितना भी व्यवस्था में जीता हूँ, आज जितना खूबी से जीता हूँ कल उससे अधिक जी सकता हूँ उत्तरोत्तर और अधिक सुखपूर्वक जीना ही ‘धर्म’ है। समस्याओं के साथ सुखी होना बनता नहीं, समझदारी से ही समाधान सम्पन्न होने के आधार पर सुखी होना बनता है। भौतिक वस्तुओं के आधार पर समाधान उपजाएं और फिर सुखी हों ऐसा बनता नहीं। समाधान, समझदारी हमारी जागृति विधि से बुद्धि में निहित है ही। समझदारी के आधार पर भौतिक वस्तुओं को उपजाना बनता है और सदुपयोग करना।
